Discussion of thesis (Ismail Khalil Hussein) from the Dept. of Physics

 Held public discussion of the doctoral student (Ismail Khalil Hussein) Department of Physics for his thesis tagged (The effect of phase and structural changes in the surface layer of samples of the AK5M7 aluminum alloy modified by the ESA method.)

The aims of the present work are to establish the effect of phase and structural changes in the surface layer of samples of the AK5M7 aluminum alloy modified by the ESA method on the strength properties and tribotechnical characteristics of coatings.

As a result of the research, the optimal characteristics of the processing process and the materials of the anodes used were established, which made it possible to increase the wear resistance of the surface of the AK5M7 alloy by 15 - 18 times in comparison with the wear resistance of the same surface without ESM. The results obtained can be used to increase the performance of mechanical parts made of AK5M7 alloy used in various units and mechanisms of machines operating in friction mode.
