The public discussion of the doctoral student ((Mea'ad Kamil Binyia))  in the Department of Chemistry - College of Science - University of Anbar took place on Tuesday 15/6/2021 in Jaber bin Hayyan Hall about her thesis tagged: ((Synthesis, Characterization and Mesomorphic properties for new Imidazole derivatives)).

The objectives of this study are: (1) synthesize a novel series of ionic liquid crystals compound derived from imidazole with terminal chains, (2) synthesize a novel series of ionic liquid crystals compound derived from benzoimidazole with terminal chains, (3) explain the structures of the titled compounds using FT-IR, CHN/O and NMR spectroscopy techniques, and (4) study the influence of structural changes in the liquid crystalline properties of the titled compounds by DSC and POM. The results show that some of the compounds have liquid crystal properties and one of these properties is N phase.
