A scientific symposium for the Dept. of Biotechnology on (Bioinformatics & future Aspects)

 Within the cultural season and the scientific activities of the College of Science and in the presence of the Honorable President of Anbar University, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Talib Saleh Al-Nada, and the Honorable Dean of the College of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Salman Al-Qaisi, a scientific symposium was held for the Biotechnology Department entitled (Bioinformatics and Future Aspects) on Wednesday 2023/ 1/11 at ten o'clock in the morning at Jaber Bin Hayan Hall, in the presence of a large number of heads of departments and specialists in this field in various scientific disciplines, and the symposium was under the direct supervision of the Head of the Biotechnology Department, Professor Dr. Safa'a Almue'ani, Dr. Huda Muslih Mahmood and Fourth stage students, where this symposium is the first of its kind in terms of recitation, as the symposium topics were delivered by a group of students of the department, and the explanation was made using the Internet and the use of information through modern technologies, and it included the following topics:

 
1- An introductory lecture on bioinformatics / Prof. Dr. Huda Muslih Mahmood
 
2- Drug design (student Mustafa Mahmood Mawlood / Abdullah Ahmed Mahmood)
 
3- Design of primers/students Yasser Ammar Farhan - Mustafa Waheed Atiwi - Amir Yassir Mikhlif
 
4- Drawing plasmids and atlases of genomes / Safa Jasim - Rehab Mazin Abdul Hameed - Maryam Hassan - Maryam Rafi'e
 
5- Drawing genetic trees / Ayman Hafith - Mo'amen Nouri
 
6- Dot-plot drawing of DNA/ Ayat Hamid - Tuqa Tareq
 
For his part, the respected President of the University praised the efforts exerted in making this symposium a success and the method of the students in employing modern technologies through recitation. His Excellency ordered to honor of the organizers of the symposium and the participating students.
 
In the same context, the Dean of the College delivered a speech in which he welcomed the large crowd of attendees and praised the great efforts to make this symposium a success.
