Health risk assessment of some heavy metals in household dust from urban area in Fallujah city

This study aim to assess the carcinogenic and noncarcinogenic health risk of heavy metals in household dust of Fallujah city

This study included examining the concentrations of heavy metals (cadmium, chromium, copper, nickel, lead, and zinc) and their impact on health through ingestion, inhalation and dermal contact in household dust in Fallujah, Iraq.

The results showed that the mean values of  concentrations of these heavy metals exceeded their mean  of concentrations in background values. The non-cancer health risk assessment showed no potential non-cancer health risk from exposure to these heavy metals, while the Cancer Health Risk Assessment showed a potential cancer health risk from chromium exposure.
