Synthesis, characterization, and mesomorphic studies for new heterocyclic compounds and their metal complexes

The discussion began with the reading of Surat Al-Fatihah on the soul of the late Prof. Dr. Qais Irzik Ibrahim, this study included preparation and characterization of nine new complexes containing coumarin or 3-acetyl-7-hydroxy-2H-chromin-2-un inside the central nucleus. Resulting from the reaction of a series of compounds. Starting from alkylation reactions, esters reactions, reactions of Schiff bases with some metallic elements (cobalt, nickel and copper). This group of compounds showed colors ranging from pale to dark, and these complexes were diagnosed using infrared techniques (FT-IR) and infrared spectroscopy Ultraviolet (UV-Vis), (LC-Mass) spectroscopy, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR. Measurements of the molar conductivity and magnetic sensitivity of these compounds were also performed, and the results obtained for the complexes under study, show the octahedral geometry.
